Carter l Fleenor

“Sometimes the Manga is just better than the Anime man”

About the Creator

Carter L. Fleenor was born and raised in the state of Florida, where he developed a love for storytelling and creativity from an early age. Growing up, he immersed himself in anime and manga, drawing inspiration from series like Dragon Ball, Initial D, and Black Lagoon. These formative influences shaped not only his imagination, but also his drive to one day create a story of his own. Over time, Carter developed a special connection to manga, with his top three favorites being Chainsaw Man (#1), Black Lagoon (#2), and Dragon Ball (#3). Each of these works represents a different aspect of what he admires most in storytelling, gritty realism, high-octane action, and unforgettable characters. At just 18 years old, Carter has already begun carving out his own creative path. Outside of his writing, he enjoys gaming often spending time in immersive and challenging titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Project Zomboid, and BeamNG.drive. Beyond digital worlds, he has a passion for fishing, working on cars, and simply enjoying the drive. These hobbies, combined with his love for anime and manga, have given him both the experiences and the creative spark that fuel his writing. For years, Carter carried the dream of publishing his own manga, but hesitation and self-doubt held him back. That changed during a vacation to Ontario, Canada, where inspiration struck and the idea for Chicane was born. Realizing he had something unique, Carter made the decision to finally pursue his vision and bring it to life. Since then, Chicane has grown into much more than just a project, it has become the defining creative journey of his life so far. At its core, Chicane is a gritty and emotional story about family, survival, and the dark underbelly of street racing culture. It follows brothers Johnny and Nick Alvarez, who are drawn into the world of high-stakes racing and organized crime after the death of their father leaves them burdened with his debts. With danger lurking at every turn, the brothers are forced to navigate betrayal, violence, and shifting loyalties. But beyond the thrill of racing and the intensity of their struggles, Chicane is ultimately about the bond between two brothers fighting to hold on to each other when the world around them is falling apart. Carter weaves this story with both realism and heart, blending his influences from anime, manga, and real-life experiences into something personal and original. Creating Chicane has been more than just writing a story for Carter, it has been a process of growth and discovery. Along the way, he has gained confidence, found encouragement from unexpected places, and learned that support can come not only from close friends and family but also from complete strangers who believe in his vision. Above all, he credits his father as his biggest source of strength and motivation, the person who continually inspires him to keep moving forward no matter what. For Carter L. Fleenor, Chicane is just the beginning. What started as a dream has transformed into a living, breathing work that reflects his passions, his influences, and his determination. With each page, he continues to push himself as both a creator and a storyteller, committed to sharing the worlds he imagines with others who might find inspiration in them, just as he once did in the stories that shaped him.
